Restraint might have been the key theme of Michael Kors' autumn/winter 2015 collection but the guests at the New York Fashion Week show were clearly in ebullient mood. Models-of-the-moment Hanneli Mustaparta, Poppy Delevigne and Lily Aldridge laughed and posed for selfies as they waited for the show to start, while actresses Kate Hudson and Girls' Allison Williams appeared to be having as much fun as their floral outfits.

Michael Kors has been described by Vanity Fair as having "an irresistible mix of class and mass". The designer has built his global fashion empire on instinctively knowing what real women want to wear - a fact evident in the number of his pared-back totes with a simple gold MK swinging from women's arms up and down the country. For autumn, Kors is committed to masculine-inspired cover-ups contrasted with lavish gold and opulence. Here are our five favourite looks of the season.
