Renowned for their beautiful, vintage-inspired fashion watches, Olivia Burton have introduced an exciting new range of jewellery to compliment their existing collection. Made up of dainty necklaces, statement bangles and easy-to-wear pieces, the collection playfully nods to the popular watch motifs incorporating the iconic 3D bee designs. We asked brand founders Lesa Bennett and Jemma Fennings to tell us more about this exciting new venture into the world of jewellery.

Tell us about the new collection and why you decided to take this step into jewellery?

Jemma: We’ve always loved accessories so launching jewellery was a natural progression for the brand. We had so many of our lovely customers asking us to design bracelets to sit alongside their watches, so we started designing and we just couldn’t stop. Before we knew it we had a whole jewellery collection that we fell in love with. We launch new styles every few months alongside our new watch collections and we’ve tried to design bracelets and bangles that can be stacked alongside the watches. Our new January pieces are super cute, my personal favourite is the Moulded Bee Mix Metal Drop Necklace - it's perfect for layering up.

Lesa: We have taken some details from our most-loved watch styles and incorporated them into some of the jewellery styles. Our new Daisy jewellery pieces were inspired by our Moulded Daisy Watch, which is a true conversational piece. We’re really into statement earrings at the moment – our Daisy Jackets are so super cute and I always get so many compliments when I wear mine.

What was the inspiration behind the designs?

Lesa: We love seeing how our customers are wearing their watches and we took a lot of inspiration from them in designing new pieces. The jewellery is also inspired by elements of vintage pieces we have in our own personal collections and catwalk trends we see coming through.

What are your 3 must-haves pieces from the collection?

Lesa: A daisy watch, matching bracelet and some studs make for a pretty cute statement. They’re my go-to pieces at the moment. I’m getting ready for Spring.

Jemma: I’m hugely into layering necklaces and despite only having one piercing in each ear, I’m really into statement earrings so I’d have to say the Moulded Bee and Coin Necklace to layer up with the Mix Metal Bee and Ball Long Chain and the Moulded Bee Bar Earrings. They’re such versatile pieces and work with almost everything.

‘Will you Bee my Valentine’?

Moulded Bee Drop Necklace in Silver & Rose Gold, £60
Moulded Bee Chain Earrings in Rose Gold, £45
Moulded Bee & Ball Necklace in Rose Gold, £120
Moulded Bee Chain Earrings in Rose Gold, £45
Moulded Bee & Coin Necklace in Rose Gold, £70

Which piece(s) would make the perfect Valentine’s gift?

Jemma: Well given how Bee crazy I am right now I’d have to say a pair of Bee earrings, as long as you know she has her ears pierced you can’t really go wrong.

What’s next for Olivia Burton?

Lesa: We have so many things that we are working on behind the scenes that we have to remain tight lipped about, but there’s lots of exciting things coming. We both have little boys, my son Brody is nearly 2 and Jemma’s son Albie has just turned one. Juggling work and family life keeps us super busy, but we absolutely love it and we’re so excited to roll out our jewellery to more stores this year.
