David Bailey meets ‘modern muse’ Elisa Sednaoui-Dellal in Jaeger’s new campaign

Jaeger has recruited iconic photographer David Bailey to capture its luxurious Autumn/Winter 2015 collection, which celebrates contemporary women in the form of model, actress and philanthropist Elisa Sednaoui-Dellal.

Sednaoui-Dellal, the face of the campaign, captures the essence of the inspirational “modern muse” according to the brand, which hopes to demonstrate its authority in timeless British fashion while revealing its “contemporary vision” for the future.

Bailey is rooted in the brand’s heritage, having kicked off his successful career in 1962 by capturing iconic British labels such as Jaeger for Vogue. His history made him a “natural choice” to capture the new collection of “iconic outerwear, beautiful tailoring and sumptuous separates” according to Jaeger CEO Colin Henry.

The campaign shows Sednaoui-Dellal wearing classic pieces including an updated camelhair coat, a boiled wool grey mélange gilet with a sleek cashmere polo-neck and a rib cape sweater over a crisp white shirt. The collection is focused on timeless items made from the likes of cashmere, vicuna, camel hair and alpaca.

“It feels effortless – you can just throw it on and wear it in so many different situations,” said Jaeger’s creative director Sheila McKain-Waid. “That’s what we are trying to bring back – that is the great history of Jaeger. The past informs the future.”

Sednaoui-Dellal, who despite being born in Egypt and raised in Italy now calls London her home, added: “The brand encapsulates effortless English elegance; a love for quality, for enduring clothes that go further than the trend of a season. These are pieces you'll have and wear forever.”
