How to banish winter skin with Bobbi Brown's new Glow Collection

KU Bobbi Glow Strobing SS16 CMYK 1

Let’s face facts: this winter chill isn’t going anywhere, and is wreaking havoc on our skin. Launching just in the nick of time, Bobbi Brown’s Glow makeup collection promises to revive dull, dry skin with an arsenal of radiance-boosting treats.

Bobbi believes that every woman can be her own makeup artist with the right knowledge and products.

In order to test the theory, our beauty editor Grace paid a visit to the lovely Bobbi Brown makeup artist Bianca at Fenwick Bond Street's Bobbi Brown counter for a complimentary Glow Makeup Lesson, currently on offer nationwide. With the promise of a flawless New Year glow, we simply couldn't resist...

The Base

First up, Bianca prepped my dehydrated skin using the Extra Repair Serum, Luminous Moisture Balm and Face Oil to replenish and create a dewy base for makeup to follow. She followed with the Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation, then applied a pink-based Corrector under my eyes to neutralise any blue-toned darkness. She blended the Creamy Concealer over the top, as well as on any marks or blemishes.

The Eyes

Focusing on my eyes, Bianca selected one of the new limited edition Long-Wear Gel Sparkles in Brown Metal using a Cream Shadow Brush. The shimmery formula left a pretty sheen on the lids, with an impressive staying power that lasted way into the evening. This was followed by the Eye Opening Mascara, which gave me thick, fluttery lashes.

The Complexion

Next, Bianca returned to the skin and onto what I consider the star of the show: the new Highlighting Powder in Pink Glow. This gorgeous pearly powder packs a real punch as its lightweight texture captures the light beautifully when applied to the high points of your face – think tops of cheek bones, brow bone and centre of the nose. Pair this with a non-shimmery bronzer and your favourite blusher – we chose Coral Sugar – to add warmth and dimension to the skin.

The Lips

To finish the look, Bianca opted for the Lip Pencil in Ballet Pink to line the lips, then applied the new limited edition Extra Lip Tint over the top. Infused with olive oil and vitamin E and C, the nourishing formula imparts a sheer pinky shade that enhances your natural colour. Plus, the SPF15 protects the skin as well as keeping it super smooth and soft.

The Mighty Trio

Makeup is only as good as the canvas on which it’s applied, and for Bobbi, healthy skin is the first step in achieving flawless, natural makeup. Bobbi recommends starting your ritual off with a skincare mask from the trio power pack hitting counters today which can be used individually or together, depending on your skin’s needs. Whether you're craving moisture, a deep cleanse, or a much-needed pick me up, the Instant Detox, Skin Nourish and Radiance Boost masks are sure to reset, restore and re-energise your skin’s appearance.
