While we often find ourselves lusting over the looks that crop up on the catwalk each season, making them work in our own wardrobes (and budgets) can prove to be a challenge.

To help you get a head start on AW16 trends, we've paired some of our favourite looks from London Fashion Week with fashion-forward yet easy-to-wear blouses, handbags, coats, dresses and shoes you can buy at Fenwick right now...

Mother of Pearl LFW AW16

Trend: Sheer

We love the dark and romantic sheer looks from Mother of Pearl and Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, with gorgeous tops, skirts and dresses in the mix. For a piece you can wear with other items in your wardrobe, go for a blouse, like our pick from Red Valentino.

Red Valentino, £249; Available at Fenwick Brent Cross

Mother of Pearl LFW AW16

Trend: Kale Green

The star of the show came in the form of a fresh new colour this LFW: kale green. A shade that works with most skin tones and hair colours, go for a solid colour jumper or skirt (as seen at Mother of Pearl), a printed dress (a la Eudon Choi) or opt for a staple wardrobe item like this Paul Smith coat that will see you through seasons to come.

Paul Smith, £535; Available at Fenwick Brent Cross

Eudon Choi LFW AW16

Trend: bold Boots

Whether they came in maroon vinyl, with oversized pom poms or bedazzled in silver sequins, bold patterned or coloured calf-length heeled boots were hard to miss in the style capital over the past week. For a pair you can wear with denim, tights or dark trousers, we've got our eyes on Kurt Geiger's Strut boots.

Kurt Geiger, £160; Available at Fenwick of Bond Street

 J. JS Lee AW16 LFW

Trend: Tassels

We've seen tassels on the high street over the past few seasons, but now the tassel trend is appearing in high-end fashion. Hunt for the perfect tassel-tie dress or blouse for an understated look, or add a pop of colour to a casual outfit with the Sofia Crossbody from Rebecca Minkoff.

Rebecca Minkoff, £215; Available at Fenwick of Bond Street

Eudon Choi LFW AW16

Trend: Billowy Blouses

We're trading our structured, tailored tops for billowy and oversized after seeing the gorgeous looks on the catwalks of Eudon Choi, J. JS Lee and Mother of Pearl. Go for a white and bright wide-sleeved top for a versatile day-to-night look, or invest in this patterned pick from Tibi to work florals into your look.

Tibi, £370; Available at Fenwick of Bond Street

Eudon Choi LFW AW16

Trend: Merlot

The fashion world fell in love with oxblood last season, and while the shade is still in style we're loving it's sultry sister that's hitting the catwalks - Merlot. In a deeper shade of wine red, the coats and jumpsuits from Eudon Choi and velvet dresses from Preen by Thornton Pregazzi are on our wish list, but we'll happily get the look for less with this structured dress from AX Paris.

AX Paris, £19 from £45; Available at Fenwick Brent Cross

J. JS Lee LFW AW16

Trend: Mustard Yellow

Bright and bold in a sea of rich colours, mustard yellow is the perfect way to add some optimism to your outfit. If you're feeling adventurous, shop the shade in a dress or coat, or to work it in more subtly, we're loving this cosy-casual jumper from Seasalt.

Seasalt, £55; Available at Fenwick Canterbury

Preen by Thornton Bregazzi LFW AW16

Trend: no-tailor Trousers

Not only is the wide leg here to stay, but we're saying goodbye to tailoring altogether with trousers that look oh-so-comfortable yet chic when paired with a new-season billowy blouse. Try the look out for size with this cosy yet sophisticated pair from Eileen Fisher

Eileen Fisher, £250; Available at Fenwick Tunbridge Wells

Eudon Choi LFW AW16

Trend: Metallics

Whether it was full silver heeled boots at Eudon Choi, shimmering midi skirts at Markus Lupfer or sparkling dresses and sleeves at Peter Pilotto, the '80s returned in a big way this LFW with the introduction of metallics into both clothes and accessories. While we debate over which pieces to buy, we'll be letting our feet start the conversation with these Parka leather block heels from LK Bennett.

L K Bennett, £225; Available at Fenwick Newcastle
