Look inside the bag of the most stylish editor at fashion week

Sleek, minimalist, luxurious – who else could this fashion week bag belong to but Caroline Issa, publisher/fashion director (she is CEO of Tank magazine and editor of e-zine Because) turned fashion designer ( she previously collaborated with LK Bennett, this year it's Nordstrom). We asked for a sneak peak inside the tote that will take her from early morning shows through to late night parties.

What do you carry at fashion week?

A practical Jil Sander bowling bag for day and a M2 Malletier clutch for night. I prefer a discreet bag - something not too recognisable and definitely functional.

And what’s inside?

My kindle, my favourite red Nars lipstick, my Iphone 6, an Octaevo notebook for making notes at the shows, my Sophie Hulme wallet and almonds to snack on when there is no time to eat. And I can never leave home without an extra phone charger.

What does no one ever tell you about fashion week?

That we are truly lucky to be watching collections coming down the runway even if we complain at how packed the schedule is - that it is a true spectacle and that you should never lose the anticipation! But that it is like running a marathon, without the health benefits!

Do you enjoy all the attention and being photographed?

I think the street-style phenomenon is fascinating and interesting to have been a part of in the eye of the storm - it’s a disconcerting experience to face so many cameras coming in and out of shows and I’m never wholly prepared to be captured so early in the morning looking bleary-eyed trying to do my job, but it’s been fun and I love seeing the results of photographers on the amazing blogs.

Whose style do you admire?

Too many to mention - Garance Dore, Jenna Lyons, Hanneli Mustaparta, Yasmin Sewell, Tamu McPherson, Natalie Joos, Olivia Palermo - lots of stylish ladies!

Which is the best-dressed row?

The UK fashion editors, of course!

Do you ever read on the front row?

I tend to read Women's Wear Daily but no books on the front row. Now with social media there are so many distractions for better or for worse…probably for worse!

What will you be packing to wear this season?

Anything warm - it’s looking to be really cold everywhere!

Do you have any packing secrets?

Bring a candle for your hotel room. I always pack lots of Equipment shirting, a great parka jacket that goes with everything and one suit that you can wear as separates.

What is your ultimate rule of style?

Have fun with fashion and feel comfortable - confidence is key.

Complete the sentence – there is more to life than fashion…

...so live every moment passionately and with joy.
