Soft pop: How to wear the pastel trend

There's no denying that pale pinks and blues are pretty, but perfecting pastels in your wardrobe, make-up bag and throughout your home can be something of an art.

Five tips for wearing pastels

1. If you don't want to fully commit, start with an accessory, such as a pearl necklace from Georgiana Scott or a delicate bracelet from Lola Rose.

2. Once you're ready to introduce ice cream colours into your wardrobe, be gentle - choose one colour, such as cotton candy pink, and stick with it throughout your outfit.

3. If you want a bolder look, try a neutral base (navy and grey work well) paired with pastel shoes, a bright bag or soft-hued makeup.

4. You may want to stay away from black paired with pink and blue pastels to avoid looking like a Liquorice Allsort.
