Ten tips to shape up and shine with nude nails

1.The hot new hue

2. The nourishing base coat

If you are going nude, then grooming becomes all the more important. Following the trend in colour correction make-up comes the very first CC base coat for nails from Eve Snow. It nourishes, conditions as well as correcting any discolouration.

3. The buffer

5. The transformers

Bare doesn’t have to be boring. Have some fun with Marian Newman’s latest collection for MAC. Fusing the former forensic scientist's technical know-how with her innovative design it includes Texturise, a lacquer which gives a leather effect and Highlight, for an iridescent finish - it's what Marion calls: “a grown-up version of nail art”.

6. The perfect pink

Ditch your deep autumnal tones and feel pretty as a princess with Christian Dior’s aptly named Majesty. Perfect for every (royal or otherwise) occasion, this ladylike shade looks regal on every skin tone.

7. The new sparkle

If you’re still reluctant to relinquish some shimmer, YSL have presented ‘La Nuit Blanche’ for spring. The subtle limited edition sparkle layered over your chosen shade will add some unexpected glitter to your otherwise nude look.

8. The catwalk look

If you’re looking for a colour straight from the runway, Eve Snow’s Nudist was specially selected for the Emilia Wickstead SS15 show. The perfect barely-there hue also contains active ingredients to protect your nails from sun damage – ideal for brighter days.

9. The half-moon mani

For a fun twist on the classic look, half moon manicures are still on trend for spring. Experiment by applying a pop of colour in a contrasting shade on the base of your nails for a striking look - our favourite is spring's fresh mint.
