Coloured eye make up
See our guide to adding a pop of colour to your make-up look, including bold and beautiful hues from Laura Mercier, Charlotte Tilbury and Benefit.
Baby blue eyeshadow. It’s a beauty crime we all committed in our teen years and while it’s something that (sadly and understandably) never caught on, many of us grew up to put down the paint pots and opt for safer black and brown eye make-up. Alex Babsky, Make-Up Artist and Lancôme UK Makeup Artist Ambassador, explains: “Traditionally, as girls grow up, they abandon more colourful make-up in favour of something more ‘adult’ & discreet - consequently, if you're bold enough to try it, incorporating an element of colour into 'adult' makeup can look refreshingly carefree." He added that rather than opting for all-over colour, you should restrict yourself to a specific statement. "Try a bolt of cobalt or emerald kohl along your waterline, or swap your black liquid liner for a deep, luxurious burgundy," he added. We scoured the Fenwick beauty halls to uncover the most gorgeous colours on the market. Add a pop of colour into your make-up and your look will transform completely. ## Turquoise
Perfect all year round, rich turquoise and teal shades add maximum elegant drama with minimal effort. Charlotte Tilbury’s Eyes to Mesmerise Cream Eyeshadow in Cleopatra might look slightly scary at first, but its ingenious cream-to-sheen formula means it’s impossible to go overboard. Simply dip your fingertip into the pots and apply it all over the lid for an instant wash of colour. If you’re looking for something bolder, get your hands on Laura Mercier’s Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Peacock. Creamy, long-lasting and intensely pigmented, this easy-to-use stick can be scribbled across the lid for all over colour. Or draw a line along your top lash line and blend it out with a fluffy brush for a fun and bright version of smoked liner. _Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise (Cleopatra), £22, is available at Fenwick Bond Street, Brent Cross, Kingston and Newcastle_ _Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colours in Peacock, £22, is available at Fenwick Bond Street, Brent Cross, Colchester, Kingston, Newcastle, Tunbridge Wells and York_ ## Cobalt blue
Kick the intensity up a notch with a touch of cobalt blue. Last year, Benefit took their infamous They’re Real Mascara and gave it a fun makeover, releasing its Beyond Brown and Beyond Blue shades. Beyond Blue is a bright shade that instantly opens the eyes. As well as lengthening and curling your lashes, it’ll also add a fun pop of colour that is surprisingly wearable. For a subtle bolt of colour, slick Lancome’s Artliner 24H in Sapphire along the lids and create a thin but long wing at the end. This vibrant blue looks chic and doesn’t require much to create a statement on your eyes. _Benefit They’re Real Mascara in Beyond Blue, £19.50, is available at Fenwick Bracknell, Brent Cross, Canterbury, Colchester, Kingston, Newcastle and Tunbridge Wells_ _Lancome Artliner 24H in Sapphire, £21, is available at Fenwick stores nationwide_ ## Green
Deep moss greens and rich emerald tones can add a sultry vibe to your make-up look. Add a hint of intensity with Bobbi Brown’s Metallic Eye Shadow in Balsam, a gorgeous deep green shade. Apply it to the centre of the lid for a pretty wash of colour that sparkles when you blink, or diffuse it out under your waterline for a smokey eye with a hint of glitter – perfect for the holiday season. On non-eyeshadow days, pick up NARS’ Eye Paint in Mozambique, an earthy olive green. Perfect to line and define the eyes, its lightweight gel formula glides on the lids and stays put for a solid 18 hours. Make the look more casual and blend the liner out with your fingers for a softer look – but get in there quick because once it sets, it’s set. _Bobbi Brown Metallic Eye Shadow in Balsam, £17.50, is available at Fenwick Bond Street, Canterbury, Kingston, Newcastle and Tunbridge Wells_ _NARS Eye Paint in Mozambique, £18.50, is available at Fenwick Bond Street, Brent Cross and Kingston_ ## Violet

From warm browns and muted coppers to bright snow whites and intensely rich golds, nude and gold shades suit all skin tones, occasions and outfits. For an easy solution to glamourous eyes, swipe Giorgio Armani’s Eye Tint in Cold Copper on the outer third of your eyelid and blend it out with a fluffy brush before it sets. If you’re after intense colour, layer it up until you reach your desired effect. Its formula sets to have staying power similar to ink, meaning it’ll take some serious elbow grease to shift this. For a more intense hit of colour, grab Estee Lauder Pure Colour Envy Defining Eyeshadow, £20, in Naked Gold. Apply this shadow to the centre of your lid for a gorgeous hint of gold that catches the light. Amp up the colour by wetting your brush – this will make the shadow intensify in colour to give a beautiful metallic payoff. When using colour on the eyes, it’s important to maintain balance. Instead of lining your waterline with a standard black kohl liner, reach for a bright nude or beige liner instead, such as MAC’s Technakohl Liner in Snowed, £14\. A warm but bright white, this colour has a slight metallic sheen to it. Its creamy texture is soft on the eyes, meaning it won’t irritate even the most sensitive among us, and comes in handy mechanic pencil packaging, eliminating messy sharpenings. Swipe this along your waterline for an instantly eye-widening and fresh finish to the eyes. _Giorgio Armani Eye Tints in Cold Copper, £27, is available at Fenwick Bond Street and Newcastle_ _Estee Lauder Pure Colour Envy Defining Eyeshadow in Naked Gold, £20, is available at Fenwick stores nationwide_ _MAC Technakohl Liner in Snowed, £14, is available at Fenwick Bond Street, Brent Cross, Canterbury, Kingston, Newcastle, Tunbridge Wells and York_
