CHLOE WILSON, MASON & RYE SUPERVISOR
I joined Fenwick in October 2016, after graduating from my degree in Psychology. My first role in Fenwick was in the pop-up Christmas café called “Mrs Tiggywinkles”. I loved this role and really enjoyed being a part of something special in store over Christmas. In January, I moved over to our Mediterranean restaurant Fuego, this is one of the fastest paced restaurants at Fenwick. I found this role really challenging, rewarding and engaging and I learned a lot of new skills which then lead me to my most recent role as Supervisor in Mason & Rye. I support my manager in the day to day running of the fast paced café, ensuring my team work well together to create an excellent standard of service.
Over the last 9 months I feel like I’ve had such amazing opportunities to progress within the store and I always feel valued for my hard work, which has been reflected in my promotion in February. I have only been with Fenwick a short amount of time but feel I have achieved so much and am looking forward to what the future holds.
STEWART STEVENS, MENSWEAR DEPARTMENT MANAGER
I joined Fenwick in April 2016 as Menswear Department Manager right in the middle of the new store development. Since I started, the square footage has almost doubled in size which has lead to an increase in our brand portfolio. This has created more commercial opportunities and enables me to be proactive within my role to network and build a rapport with both internal and external colleagues.
Working for Fenwick and being responsible for the Menswear Department, I feel like I am running my own business and I can really influence our success. The autonomy I have gives me scope to influence how we sell our products, manage the people within the team and market the business to our customers. This is a great stepping stone for future career opportunities.
CHRISTINE GRAY, LUISA CERANO BRAND AMBASSADOR
I joined Fenwick York in October 2016, after leaving my role at LK Bennett. I first worked at Fenwick Newcastle at Christmas in the Handbag Department and really enjoyed being part of the team and providing customer service, especially over Christmas. I then moved to York to get married in 2007. I had always wanted to return to Fenwick and luckily I got the position in the Designer Room Department. I have found this role very rewarding and I have formed strong relationships with many customers. I feel that my voice is heard within the department and we have a very strong team that are going from strength to strength. Since being a Brand Ambassador, I have had the opportunity to attend the Luisa Cerano Fashion Show in London which was an amazing experience.
I feel that the past few months have allowed me to adopt the Fenwick way of customer service and I am so happy within the company, this is the perfect job for me. I feel that as a team we have put our own stamp on the department and I am looking forward to being a part of the continued success of both the Designer Room and Fenwick York.
ANDY ADAMS KITCHEN MANAGER
I originally joined Fenwick in 2012 on a three month temporary Christmas contract and have been here ever since. I have been fortunate enough to progress through different roles over the last 5 years and now oversee the day to day management of the Newcastle kitchens. My job in store has allowed me to develop as a chef and also as a manager through the training courses and infrastructure provided by the company. I really enjoy my role here in Fenwick as I get to work in all of our kitchens, with different foods and people everyday. In the catering world it’s often difficult to achieve a work life balance, however I have found working in Fenwick fulfils this.
AMY RODGER, DEPARTMENT MANAGER
I started my career with Fenwick in 2014 working in the Tunbridge Wells store as the account manager for Lancôme. In 2015 I was ready for a new challenge and I moved over to Fenwick Canterbury as Fragrance & Beauty Space Sales Manager. Within a year I was then promoted to Department Manager. So far in my time at Fenwick I have learnt so many new skills, had the responsibility to help run the Cosmetics Department and in September 2017 I will be given the opportunity to do a Level 4 Diploma in Retail Management. Not only do I enjoy my role, even the challenging parts, I also work for and with some of the best people I ever have!
ANJANA SONI, SALES ADVISOR FOR STATIONERY
My main role and duties lie within customer service, supporting with stock levels and ensuring the sales floor looks premium at all times. My working experience with Fenwick over the past 19 years has been constantly pleasant and I have always been happy working here. Management has always treated me with kindness and understanding as well as having colleagues who are welcoming and friendly. The working environment is safe and puts me in a position where I feel comfortable working and interacting with others, consistently delivering excellent customer service. I look forward to a successful future with Fenwick!
