Salter is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to domestic weighing scales. The brand’s life began with founded Richard Salter in the late 1760s in the village of Bilston, England. By 1825, the company was producing a variety of scales—like the UK’s first bathroom scale—and homeware pieces like irons, mincers, potato chippers, coin-operated machines and the UK’s first typewriter. Today, Salter’s range of kitchenware and cookware includes the Heston Blumenthal Precision line of thermometers, scales, timers and other kitchen accessories.
