All about that base: 5 beauty launches to give you a flawless finish
Kiehl's Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate 12.5% Vitamin C* and Hyaluronic Acid, £49.50
In the pursuit of a perfect complexion, skincare is always the first port of call. Beauty buzz-word of 2017, Vitamin C, is the hero ingredient behind Kiehl’s new and improved concentrate, which now comes with added Hyaluronic Acid to lock down moisture throughout the day. Their new formula includes an extra 2% of Vitamin C with added levels of Ascorbic Acid to refine skin texture, pigmentation and fine lines, as well as prevent future damage. Use after cleansing and before moisturiser over a couple of weeks for surprisingly radiant results.
Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Concealer, £24
This new medium to full coverage concealer packs a punch. Powered by Skin Fusion Technology, long-wearing flexible polymers fuse to skin for 12 hours of wear that’s transfer, sweat and water-resistant. The creamy texture contains finely-milled blurring powders to diffuse light and create a soft-focused effect that conceals both under eyes and blemishes or marks on the skin. Plus, the oil-free formula is available in an impressive 12 shades and across a range of warm, neutral and cool undertones so you can be sure to find the perfect match.
Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter, £30
Tilbury’s latest creation is already a firm favourite amongst beauty editors and influencers since its launch earlier this month. Coined as a complexion booster, the multitasking product can be used in a number of ways; predominantly as a radiance-boosting primer that blurs lines and imperfections, giving skin a perfected look that’s comparable to your favourite Instagram filter. It can also be mixed into your moisturiser or foundation for added glow, or applied to specific areas as a concentrated liquid highlighter.
Estée Lauder Double Wear Custom Coverage Correcting Duo, £24
A recent addition to Estée Lauder’s popular Double Wear range, their line of correcting duos target specific areas of concern such as spots, redness and dullness. Available in eight shades, they counteract discolouration in the skin by using neutralising shades, such as lilac to counteract sallow yellow tones and green to reduce redness, plus a range of pinks and peaches to correct blue tones under eyes. Apply the lighter end’s applicator over larger surface areas and the more pigmented long-wear side over targeted areas under your concealer or foundation to even out skin tone for a perfected finish.
Available at Fenwick stores nationwide
Bobbi Brown All Over Glow, £29
To avoid an obvious mask-like finish, it’s important to maintain an element of natural radiance to the skin when creating a flawless coverage. This liquid highlighter from Bobbi Brown provides glorious glowing skin in a tube. Part of their limited edition Dreaming in Capri collection, All Over Glow is packed with brightening pigments and pearls that capture the light for instant radiance. Blend into high points of the face, such as cheek bones and under your brows, or mix in with your foundation for a lit-from-within glow.
