Mix at home: Chocolate Espresso Martini

With roots in 1980s Soho, the Espresso Martini has quickly become the sophisticated and stylish tipple of choice, especially for those seeking a boost of energy with their cocktail. While the combination of vodka and coffee is already bordering on rich-yet-edgy perfection, the team at Bond Street's Bond & Brook restaurant decided to mix things up a bit for Chocolate Week by adding one of their other favourite flavours.

Chocolate Espresso Martini


What you'll need:

  • 100g dark chocolate
  • 1tbsp double cream
  • a 35ml shot of Espresso
  • 50ml of Absolut Vanilla Vodka

How to make it:

  1. Carefully melt the chocolate using a microwave or bain-marie
  2. Once melted, stir in the cream then add the espresso and vodka to the mixture
  3. Chill in the fridge for 30 minutes
  4. Pour into a cocktail shaker over cubed ice and shake
  5. Strain into a martini glass and garnish using cocoa powder and/or chocolate.
