We invited self-confessed jeans-aholic Alex Stedman, founder of the style blog The Frugality, to spend a week in Fenwick Bond Street's finest denim. Here are some of her highlights, as well as her top ten tips for finding the ultimate denim.
1. There's more to denim than jeans
Denim is such a versatile item these days - you can do so much more with it. Try this season's oversized denim jacket as a more casual alternative to the blazer.
2. Frame Denim is a favourite for comfort and washes
I've always heard good things about Frame Denim, but didn't quite believe it until I tried a pair of their boyfriend jeans. Soft, super comfy, great fit and THE best washes.
3. Try a boilersuit
You won't regret a denim boilersuit - a modern look in one take - no need to think about your look!
4. Paige is a go-to for skinny jeans
Paige do the best skinnies, in my opinion. The 'Edgemont' style with biker zips and never bag at the knees or bottom looks great, whether dressed up for evening or down for day.
5. AG Jeans are a favourite
I know Alexa Chung has made AG Jeans mainstream, but I always hoped they were my 'little secret'...I've been wearing them for a while now, and their distressed 'Nikki' and 'Drew' styles are pretty much my weekend go-to.
6. Denim even works in beauty
A denim beauty tip? Cobalt blue nail varnish compliments it perfectly.
7. To complete the denim look...
8. J Brand are great for sculpting
J Brand's 'photo ready' jeans are a must for those seeking a bum lift and post holiday sucking in!
9. Dungarees can be your new best friend
Denim dungarees aren't just for children's TV Presenters - try them with a silk blouse underneath for a more elevated approach.
10. MiH jeans forever
MiH do so much more than great jeans, their oversized white shirt has been on my holiday wish list for forever.
