Fenwick-Freyja-Party-Skin
In the latest instalment of our monthly series, we speak to our in-house make-up artist and beauty personal shopper, Frey-ja Barker about how to soothe and replenish our skin during party season.
With Christmas just around the corner, we’ve equipped ourselves with everything we need to take us through the festive season; from [party dresses](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/search/?cgid=fenwick-edit-partywear-clothing) to [make-up essentials](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/search/?cgid=fenwick-edit-partywear-beauty) – we’ve even bought [stocking fillers](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/search/?cgid=fenwick-website-354223-354224-354225). So, what’s left on our agenda? Taking care of our skin, especially as dryness, unexpected breakouts and redness all have a tendency of appearing during this period. To help, we speak to Fenwick’s resident make-up artist and beauty personal shopper, [Frey-ja Barker](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/319837da-586c-4b66-866b-9cd5b2af6878.html), about her top tips on how to replenish, repair havoc and keep our skin fresh and radiant through to the New Year.

Before you get started on your skincare, one easy thing you can do to make sure your skin is fresh is to sleep on a silk pillowcase. “I would recommend sleeping on slip’s Pure Silk Pillowcase Queen,” says Frey-ja. “Silk is a soft, smooth surface and causes less tugging than linen or cotton fabrics, so sleeping on silk prevents creases and dirty build-up on the skin.” It’s also great for those with dry skin, as the material doesn’t absorb moisture from the skin, keeping the face hydrated throughout the night.

What’s the first thing we should to do in order to make sure our skin is fresh and radiant?

FB: “Cleansing! During party season, it’s essential to clean the skin and make sure that all make-up is removed at the end of the night. To revive the skin, cleanse with Omorovicza’s Moor Cream Cleanser. It contains Hungarian moor mud, fresh peppermint and anti-inflammatory ingredients to detoxify and calm any signs of puffiness. Another option is Charlotte Tilbury’s Multi-Miracle Glow, which is an all-in-one mask, cleanser and balm. Massage it over dry skin, then use a hot flannel and gently rub it off the face, or use it as a regenerating mask and sleep with it on overnight for hydrated, plump skin.”

###### **Are there are any face masks that we can use as a quick-fix for our skin?** FB: “[Masks](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/beauty/skincare/treatments/masks) are brilliant for refreshing and reviving the skin. For dark marks, pigmentation or redness, reach for [Lancer Skincare’s Radiant Awakening Mask](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/beauty/skincare/treatments/masks/radiance-awakening-mask-intense/2500004900569.html). It’s got a triple tone neutralising complex, which corrects the undertones of the skin – leaving the face bright and radiant. If your skin is breaking out, [Omorovicza’s Multi-Masking Collection](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/beauty/skincare/skincare-gift-sets/skincare-sets/multi-masking-collection/2530012807475.html) contains three different masks that are all targeted towards different concerns; including congestion and dullness. For blemish-prone skin, [Omorovicza's Silver Skin Saviour](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/beauty/skincare/treatments/masks/silver-skin-saviour/2530010888605.html) is specifically designed to help to unclog pores. A great quick-fix for your skin is [STARSKIN’S Gold Mask](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/beauty/skincare/treatments/masks/the-gold-mask%E2%84%A2/2530000614542.html) – it’s a sheet mask that leaves your skin soft and supple. Simply, put it over the face and wait 10 minutes before taking it off.” ###### **What would you suggest using when we’re short on time?** FB: “I would recommend using [Foreo’s UFO Smart Mask Treatment](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/beauty/skincare/treatments/masks/ufo-smart-mask-fuchsia/2530012637010.html), which is designed to be used in conjunction with a sheet mask, and gives you a facial in 90 seconds. Use it with the [Shimmer Freak](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/beauty/skincare/eye-care/treatments/ufo-advanced-mask--shimmer-freak/2530012636990.html) – it’s a caffeine-infused sheet mask that revives tired eyes and brightens dark circles.”
###### **Our eyes tend to suffer the most during this period – what would you recommend for soothing puffiness and dark circles?** FB: “Refresh your eyes with [BIOEFFECT’s EGF Eye Serum](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/beauty/skincare/eye-care/serums/egf-eye-serum/2500004922257.html). It’s formulated with EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor), which encourages the production of collagen, and works to plump out fine lines and deep wrinkles. If your concern is dark circles, [Eyeko’s Eye Boost Serum](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/beauty/make-up/face/primers/eye-boost-serum/2530012087853.html) is designed with a cold metal applicator, which helps to dislodge water retention around the eye – leaving the eye area smoothed out.” ###### **What serums will help to repair and replenish?** FB: “For dehydrated skin, I would recommend [Skin Design London’s Hydrating Serum](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/beauty/skincare/mens-grooming/serum-and-treatments/hydrating-serum/2500005020495.html). It’s formulated with Hyaluronic Acid and is the main wonder ingredient for hydrating and plumping the skin. Simply use the rollerball around the face and it’s great to use in conjunction with a serum as it doesn’t absorb any product.” ###### **As for moisturisers, what products will help soothe and rejuvenate?** FB: “If your skin feels dehydrated and suffers from redness, [Lancôme’s Hydrazen Anti-Stress Cream](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/beauty/skincare/moisturisers/day-creams/hydrazen-anti-stress-cream/2500000817182.html) will flush the skin with hydration and nourishes the skin from within.
