We round up five of our favourite trends from the Autumn/Winter runway and show you how to work them into your wardrobe now, with brands such as Michael Kors, Karen Millen and Kurt Geiger.
After a scorching summer - which offered few wardrobe options apart from shorts, vests and light dresses - we can now turn our attention to the new season and all the sartorial possibilities it holds. Here, we round up our five favourite Autumn/Winter '18 trends and show you how to wear them.
### Animal Instinct
The new season revives fashion’s perennial love affair with animal prints. Rather than choosing just one print to champion, fashion is celebrating the whole menagerie, with everything from leopard and zebra to snake, ocelot and cheetah coming down the runway from the likes of [Tom Ford](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/search/?cgid=tomFord) and [Balenciaga](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/brands/balenciaga). This AW18 season, we’re being encouraged to take this trend to the next level, with head-to-toe looks and brightly coloured versions of classic prints, as seen in this [Karen Millen](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/search/?cgid=karenMillen) Colour Block Multi Animal Print Dress.
Lollys Laundry Alberte Leopard Midi Dress, £110
Karen Millen Colour Block Multi Animal Print Dress, £215
Red Valentino Tiger Brocade Dress, £499
Gedebe Clicky Python Handbag in Emerald Noir, £595
### Silver Streak
Fashion takes a futuristic turn as silver dominates the runway this A/W18\. From full sterling looks at Balmain and Alberta Ferretti to argent embellishments at Paco Rabanne and Off-White, silver is the metallic of choice. Take it on with a fully plated outfit such as these 2nd Day Glitz Silver Leather Trousers for high impact, or choose silvery accessories like these [L.K.Bennett](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/search/?cgid=lkbennett) Floret Court Heels for a more subtle nod to this resplendent trend.
Flapper Lola Silver Homebush Turban, £129
James Lakeland Lurex Metallic Jacket, £199
2nd Day Leya Glitz Silver Leather Trousers, £450
L.K.Bennett Floret Metallic Court Heels, £195
### Western Promise
The American Old West is a defining aesthetic of the new season. Cowboy boots were a favourite amongst many designers, including Isabel Marant and [Emporio Armani](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/search/?cgid=emporioArmani), and this Wild West vibe also came through in prairie dresses and high neck blouses, as seen here at [Michael Kors](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/search/?cgid=michaelKors) and [See By Chloé](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/search/?cgid=seeByChlo). Stylish pieces like these invoke that Western vibe without looking costumey, offering a glamorous take on this incoming trend.
Kurt Geiger Vince Camuto Prafinta Ankle Boot, £129
Michael Kors Red Lace Up Leopard Dress, £215
Baum und Pferdgarten Alexandrina Dress, £319
See By Chloé Laser Cut Blouse, £279
### Second Coat
What is better than one really incredible coat this autumn/winter? Two coats. As the temperature drops, you’ll be doubling up on outerwear, as seen at Maison Margiela and Lemaire. Designers piled coats on top of coats, juxtaposing lengths and contrasting proportions. This season, pair classic, tailored styles like these ones from [Max Mara](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/search/?cgid=maxMara) and [Marella](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/brands/marella) and play them off more casual pieces like this weather-ready Woolrich number.
Marc Cain Alpaca Coat, £465
Max Mara Studio Purple Belted Alpaca Coat, £995
Marella Diorite Coat, £285
Woolrich Arctic Parka (No Fur) in New Black, £685
### Material Girl
As we dress for the impending autumn weather, fashion proved its practical proclivity with key looks in leather and tweed. Leather took centre stage at the likes of [Sonia Rykiel](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/search/?cgid=soniaRykiel) and [Miu Miu](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/brands/miu-miu), in a rainbow palette of colours and used for everything from tops and jackets to skirts and dresses. We're fans of this richly coloured [Gerry Weber](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/search/?cgid=gerryWeber) jacket as the perfect piece to transition between seasons. Meanwhile, tweed gives this autumn/winter a sense of heritage chic, seen ovesized at [Marc Jacobs](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/search/?cgid=marcJacobs). This [Esprit](https://www.fenwick.co.uk/brands/esprit) Tweed Jacket is the ideal number to polish off sophsiticated day looks and to complete your special occasion outfits.
