Don Fulano Añejo is a marriage of very old tequilas aged in French limousine oak casks that previously held wines. It’s deep and complex with dried fruits and spice elements like cardamom and allspice which complement elegantly the right touch of sweetness that comes from slowly cooked mature agave. Honey and caramelized nuts emerge from a long finish together with a refreshing light menthol.

Quality and transparency are the watchwords of the Fonseca family, the fifth-generation agave farmers behind Don Fulano. The Fonsecas are among the few tequila makers today to grow their own agave, controlling each step of production from field to bottle and ultimately creating agave spirits of the highest standards. Each expression in the Don Fulano range – from the gently rested Blanco to the robust Imperial extra añejo – is made from just three ingredients: mature Blue Weber agave grown on the Fonseca estate in Atotonilco, Mexico; proprietary yeast; and natural volcanic spring water. These components come together at the renowned La Tequileña distillery, where the Fonsecas employ a unique double-distillation process and build Don Fulano’s signature complexity through an exacting programme of maturation and blending.
