Ahead of the Masterclass at Bentalls, we asked Alexis for some skincare advice:
What’s your skincare routine?
I keep it pretty simple because my skin is very sensitive. I cleanse my face morning and night either with Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Purifying Foaming Cleanser or Lancome Mousse Eclat. In the mornings I use a Vitamin C serum to help protect against pollution and UV damage, I like both Kiehl's Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate and SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic. Then I apply a moisturiser and if I'm out and about a sunscreen as well. I find I need a light, oil free moisturiser and sunscreen as I break out easily. Before bed I apply a prescription strength retinoid and then moisturiser. Lately I have also layered in a neck cream twice daily as I am noticing the skin there is looking crepier by the minute!
As the weather changes from winter to spring, how should your skincare routine change?
Definitely applying sunscreen is important as ultraviolet rays become stronger with seasonal changes. Those with a tendency towards pigmentation may also want to layer in a Vitamin C or other protective product as exposure to the sun increases in Spring and Summer months and pigmented patches often become more prominent. Some people also will find their skin is oilier in warmer months and may want to switch to a lighter moisturiser or change from an oil based to a foaming cleanser.
What would be your desert island beauty product?
My Kiehl's Lip Balm, I am absolutely addicted. I gave them out as party favours for my 40th birthday!
