Bentalls Kingston are delighted to be hosting a selection of great local art talent from Friday 29th September - Sunday 1st October.

Join us on the Second Floor as part of our 'Meet the Artisans' pop-up shop.

The artists taking part are...

Vic is a second year FdA student. Inspired by the interior of ‘home’, she has created a small collection of screen printed textiles, essentially for use in the domestic kitchen. Vic’s collection of oven gloves and tea towels combine hand drawn designs with digital compositions and stencilled prints to create vibrant contrasting pattern.

Louise is a 3rd year fine artist with a strong interest in drawing and painting. She focuses on using oil paint as a process to explore narrative within a domestic space. She is driven by use of line and colour.

Gabby is a 3rd year student who works with clay. Her hand-built and slip cast ceramics are concerned with the beauty found in organic decay.

Emma is a 2nd year student who works with drawings which she then translates into colour screen prints. Her current works are abstracted images of the underground.

Emma is a 2nd year student and a mixed media artist who combines paint, fabric, embellishments and printing techniques in different and exciting ways.

Raph Thomas is a young artist and illustrator based in South- West London. He studied Art in Kingston before completing a degree in Ancient History, a subject that has influenced the character of many of his works. His Bird series, which is ongoing, is inspired by travels in the tropics and an interest in natural history; he employs bright colours and portrait- like compositions to capture the vivacity of nature.

Stephen trained in art at Central School of Art and has recently returned to painting with acrylics. A recent visit to Monkey World led to the production of his current portfolio which celebrates the protection afforded to these beautiful creatures. Stephen uses both traditional media and digital drawing techniques (using an iPad) to create bold images for illustrating his range of self-published children’s books.

1of1 founder and owner, Kate Winskill, trained in fine art and fashion & textile design at Kingston College and Kingston University. She designs and makes jewellery, hand screen prints the 1of1 clothing range and continues to experiment in multimedia artwork.

Dilys is a self-taught artist, and delights in producing eye-catching images with strong themes to create decorative works for everyday spaces. She's heavily influenced by the natural world and her current portfolio brings together recognisable shapes contrasted with vibrant designs. Dilys works on commissions and has sold works both privately and at local exhibitions.

After dealing with the sad loss of his brother at a young age, Nicholas Boncore turned to art to deal with his grief. Nicholas specialises in acrylic painting and depicts beautiful scenes of water, boats and iconic landmarks.
