Drawing inspiration from the enchantment of music and the elegance of a Chanel Couture runway, Alexis creates a look that’s both playful and polished—perfectly capturing the essence of summer.

"To make the eyes pop, I played with pastel aqua tones and a touch of sparkle. I layered Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Palette of Beautifying Eye in Denim Dimension  over MAC Colour Excess Gel Pencil Eyeliner , placing the colour under the eyes and extending it outward. This technique really accentuates Valerie’s stunning eyes, enhancing her natural colour with a fresh, modern twist."

To keep the look radiant and effortless, Alexis shares: "We kept the rest of the makeup refined and glowing. I used Chanel Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint  as a base, blending it with Dior Forever Glow Maximizer  for a luminous highlight. To finish, I added a glossy touch with Charlotte Tilbury Collagen Lip Oil in Fig, giving the look an elevated, editorial feel."

Meet Simon — model and musician, bringing his authentic style and soulful sound to the Sweet Summer Sounds shoot. We caught up with him to talk about how music and personal style intertwine, what summer feels like through his creative lens, and the soundtrack to his perfect summer day.

Q: How would you describe the connection between your music and your personal style as self-expression?

A: Style and music for me were always very connected and it’s not a coincidence that all my musical hero’s have/had a good sense of style. Of course at the end of the day it’s all about the songs and the music, but the same way songs become the extension of who we are, clothes do the very same thing. Cash had the black suit, Strummer had the leather jacket and Iggy had barely any clothing on at all. There were reasons for these choices and they tell a story far beyond the sartorial realm. 

My music draws inspiration from various genres and influences, sometimes quite opposing ones, I feel like my style operates within the same unpredictable framework. 

Q: What does summer feel like in your music? Do you write/perform differently in the warmer months?

A: Summer can take many shapes and moods in our music. Sometimes it’s cocktails at sunset cruising into the weekend, sometimes it’s 5pm on a Monday sitting in London traffic with no AC in the car in the 30 degree heat. We capture it all, nothing gets left behind. The good, the bad, the happy, the sad. Festival season generally kicks off with a sense of gratitude. It’s nice to swap dark and sweaty club environments for a little bit of sunburn on your cheek. Festival performances can take a slightly more chaotic shape and feel which is always good fun.

Q: What’s the soundtrack to your ideal summer day and why?

A: Hard to answer without writing a three-thousand-word essay, so I’ll keep it short and sweet.

Breakfast: Velvet underground - some kind of love 

Lunch: Action bronson - hideo nomo

Dinner: Tony Bennett - something
