Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013 aims to reduce the amount of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) going to landfill and increase reuse and recycling.

Why should I recycle?

Electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) is now the fastest growing waste stream in the UK and across the world.

Recycling and reusing unwanted electrical or electronics can help save the planet, boost the economy and improve lives. Not only that, electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) contains materials, parts and substances which can be dangerous to the environment and harmful to human health if not disposed of correctly.

Discover the impact of reusing and recycling your electricals.

What can I recycle?

Anything with a plug, battery or cable can be recycled or reused. The materials from recycled electricals can be used in everything from children’s playgrounds to lifesaving equipment, while donating tech can help bridge the digital divide.

You will find the following symbol on all your electrical items. It serves as a reminder to recycle your old electricals, rather than binning them.

Will you take back my old electrical item for recycling?

As a distributer of electrical products, we are pleased to offer a free take-back service in store for your old electronics when you buy a new one from us, like-for-like.

Your old item does not have to have been purchased from us originally, it just needs to be the same type as your replacement item.

Simply bring your old item to any of our stores with your receipt for your new purchase and we’ll take care of the rest.

Please ensure that the item is clean and, where applicable, any personal information has been removed from the device.

For large electricals, please ask in store when purchasing your new one.

You can also find your local recycling points for electricals here.
