What do Rosie Huntington-Whitely, Dua Lipa and Kim Kardashian have in common? Swimwear from Hunza G.
Instantly recognisable for it’s one-size-fit-all seersucker design in various silhouettes and colourways, it is one of the brands in the Bright New View edit that delivers a sense of gentle optimism to your holiday packing list.
Hunza G journey began back in 1984 when it was known as Hunza. Overseen by Peter Meadows who created its signature, unique crinkle-stretch fabrication and high-cut leggy cut, Hunza became instantly recognisable in the 90s after being worn by Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman.
In 2015, Hunza added the G when Georgiana Huddart relaunched the brand and became creative director after having an obsession with the fabrics throughout her 20s.
With modern nostalgia at its core, Hunza G has grown to become an iconic brand synonymous with the beach. We speak to Georgina about how she has modernised that 80s nostalgia and brought a cool and contemporary twist to beachwear in powerful hues.
It’s pretty simple – wanting to make women feel amazing and confident in swimwear.
I would say that having a history of art and fashion background has really helped differentiate our shoots comparatively to other swim brands that were in the space in 2015.
Most brands weren’t diverse or inclusive and only shot a specific type of woman on the beach in Australia. We try and do something more interesting and evocative with our content and shoots. This goes for product too – I wanted it to be more editorial.
We have just expanded the range dramatically – and really found our tone of voice and who we are as a brand. I like to think we make women feel something when they wear the product and look at our images. It’s about making women feel amazing.

What should we keep in mind when choosing the right silhouette for our body?
Don’t assume that because you don’t feel confident about your body, that your swim has to be very covering. Sometimes interesting shapes can really flatter certain parts of the body. It’s a bit like denim, finding the right shape and then just repeat buying variations and colours.
I would actually love to go to South Africa!
