Care: Even if it looks like a very solid and resistant material, marble, and travertine in general, is very fragile and porous.

Same as you would do with a glass top table, in order to prevent breakages, you should never sit, stand over or apply unusual pressure at the end of the table top. If the table needs to be moved, it should not be done whilst fully assembled: you should always remove the top from the base and move the two pieces separately. Always carry the table top vertically, never flat.

The table should be wiped clean using a damp cloth to remove any dust and dirt and then dried using a soft duster. Spills that could damage it, i.e. acidic substances such as fruit juice, wine and spirits, curries etc. should be wiped away as quickly as possible. Ensure that moisture does not become trapped under vases or mats as this may cause the finish to ring. Protect table from the heat by using quality tablemats and coasters.

You can re-polish your table with a coat of natural paste wax as desired. This will restore the shine and protect the surface. As you would with a fine piece of wood furniture, always use placemats, coasters, and trivets and clean any spills immediately.
